Perfect for Adrenaline Junkies and Couch Potatoes Alike…

Have you ever wanted to be a contestant in a Japanese game show, but maybe without the cameras?

Are you looking to add a thrill to your Pattaya adventure?

Do you like to sit back with a refreshing drink and watch people do ridiculous things?

Splashdown is aimed mainly at adults and teenagers—there is no minimum age, but the minimum height to play is 135 cm/53 in. The most popular games are the “Super Slider”—the world’s tallest inflatable slide at 15m/50ft—and the Blob—basically an inflatable human catapult that sends the player a few meters in the air before landing in the pool. They also have the iconic “Big Red Balls” and Zorb Mountain. Safety equipment (helmets, lifejackets, and special water shoes) is mandatory and trained attendants make sure safety is a top priority.

Don’t worry, though, if you have a more laid-back approach to fun. There are some less intimidating games for the non-athletic types among us like the “Wall Racer” with trampoline rafts. While we were there, some decidedly non-sporty people were having a blast navigating their way across the obstacle course, knowing it was just a short “plop” into the water. Best of all, the lines are really short, so you can play as much as you want almost without waiting, and the standard entry fee lets you try any of the games as many times as you’d like.

Splashdown also has options for people who enjoy sitting back and just taking it in—for free! If you don’t want to play the big games, you don’t pay anything. The little ones can play in the supervised kids’ area—basically bouncy house-style kiddie pools. The grown-ups can sit in the shaded picnic areas and enjoy a full range of adult beverages. (There was a “bucket special” when we were there.) Concessions include a Chicky Chick, with KFC-style snacks, and a Thai menu. There’s also an onsite mini-mart.
