The Glass House Restaurant & Bar offers 3 incredible settings to enjoy - an all-glass, air-conditioned pastry shop, a main dining area on a shaded, airy outdoor terrace and additional tables on the actual beach. There are also comfortable sofas and loungers facing the sea which are simply perfect for watching the sun set, or for relaxing with after-dinner drinks in a serene environment.

The restaurant is open every day from 11.00 until Midnight. You can sample the fresh pastries which are baked daily, take a long lunch, or enjoy a relaxing dinner with a pristine view of the sun slowing disappearing into the ocean.

This sprawling eatery is in an idyllic setting with surrounding pine trees offering plenty of shade. The centerpiece building gives the restaurant its name. The glass pavillion was actually shipped from the United States and now acts as the pastry shop. The constant aroma of freshly baked pastries and bread will have you licking your lips as you step through its doors. Your only problem will be which cake or pastry to settle on from the enticing selection.

The extensive food menu features over 177 dishes, with seafood being its speciality. The food is both Western and Thai so there really is something for everyone. The menu has pictures of each dish, enticing you to step out of your culinary comfort zone and linger over a refreshing glass of wine, a beer or soft drink while you mull over what to order.

Appetizers such as fried calamari, crispy shrimp and crab cakes along with chicken wings will whet your appetite for the more substantial main courses. Choice New Zealand Mussels in a pesto sauce is a garlicky delight, while the Salmon Larb has a lovely, zingy spice to it.

Red, yellow and green curries may be something you see regularly on restaurant menus during your visit to Thailand, but please do not ignore the ones served here. The taste is truly fresh and the vegetables and meat are cooked to tender perfection.

If it is western food you hanker for then try the Clam Chowder or Spaghetti Bolognese. The Rack of Pork Ribs may have sauce on your chin, but with a taste this good you’ll hardly mind!

As well as creating their own pastries and desserts, the Glass House also bakes its own bread. For those looking for something lighter, particularly at lunch-time, try one of their “designer” sandwiches.

Whatever you order make sure you leave space for dessert. The Chocolate Bombe, which is a fondant shell filled with delicious, warm Belgian chocolate sauce, or the crispy fried Banana Fritters served with homemade ice cream are certain to please.

There is a wide selection of drinks available from the bar, and for those in ‘cocktail mood’ you will not go far wrong by ordering one of the Glass House signatures. The Blue Diamond or Strawberry Smoothie both come highly recommended.
