Phuket Cabaret Shows

Aphrodite is a glamorous cabaret show much in the same vein as Simon Cabaret in Patong. With a cast of hundreds it's certainly impressive to view and an entertaining night out. A large ship-like structure located opposite Tesco Lotus just outside Phuket Town, it houses a 900-seater theater, a suki shop that can hold 350 diners and a 600-seat Chinese restaurant, as well as a brewery producing three types of Pearl Lager Beer.

Visitors arriving early for the Aphrodite Cabaret Show can enjoy a beer on the outside section or if hungry can choose from the 2 large air-conditioned restaurants serving Japanese and Chinese dishes. Adjacent to the carpeted lobby, you’ll find an atmospheric wooden-floor bar complete with bronze brewing equipment from which three types of beer are served: Pearl lager, Pearl dunkel (dark) beer, and Pearl weizen beer, each one tasty and unique.

Things can get hectic just before show time, when the previous audience is filing out and the incoming audience arriving, so this bar is highly recommended to escape the melee.

Yet more dazzling performances can be found at the hugely popular Phuket Simon Cabaret, which has been packing audiences in for more than two decades.  Located just outside Patong Beach, on the way to Karon, the grand amphitheater seats 600.  Production value is high and the transgender performers defy belief but the flamboyant outfits are the real star of the show here.  The show is split into two large performances, then one in front of the curtain allowing stage set to be changed.  Each action-packed show starts at 7.30pm and 9.30pm, and it’s best to book ahead to avoid disappointment.

The show represents a good opportunity for visitors to change out of their beach wear and dress up a little bit, although there really is no competing with the outfits on stage.
